About Annie
Annie is a speech and language therapist with 30
years experience of working within the NHS and independently. She
qualified in London in 1978 with an overall distinction, and has
since worked in London and Sussex, before moving back to the West
Country in early 2005. She has also managed a GP practice, and
worked as a NHS management consultant, facilitator and trainer.
What is Speech and Language Therapy?
Speech and language therapists work to assess, diagnose and treat
people with communication difficulties. Treatment may be offered
both directly to the child or client and indirectly by supporting
carers. We liase with allied professionals in order to offer the
most effective service to the client.
Therapy
Annie works with a range of developmental and
acquired communication problems. She has specific experience in the
fields of elderly medicine, neurological conditions, and with school
aged children with complex speech and language difficulties. Her
work also covers confidence building and presentation skills (see
link to Speech and Language
Problems). Please do not hesitate to contact Annie if what you
require does not appear above.
Assessments and therapy
Clients will normally be seen in clinic but
additional home or school visits can be arranged. Assessments can
usually be provided at short notice with a minimal wait. My main
catchment areas are within a 25 mile radius of
Taunton, although referrals from other
areas are also welcome.
Training
Annie is able to offer training or group work for clients, parents
